A Sacramental Marriage within the Catholic Church brings a special relationship between a husband, a wife and God. Because of the permanent nature of this Sacrament the Church takes special interest in anyone requesting it. Any couple seeking to enter into this sacramental union is asked to contact a priest or deacon to discuss their plans. Contact must be made at least six months prior to the wedding.
The Church teaches that Catholics who have gone through a divorce and have not remarried and are living a celibate life, are members of the faith in good standing. We encourage them to participate in every aspect of the church life. Because of our belief in the presence of the Marriage bond, we are not able to automatically celebrate a second marriage after a divorce. If you or someone you know has questions about how the Church deals with divorce, annulment or remarriage, do not rely on information you’ve heard from others. Please call the parish office and ask a priest or deacon. We are ready to help you.
