Reverend James F. Mazanec - Senior Parochial Vicar

Father Jamie Mazanec was born in Clearwater, Florida, the second of four sons to Joseph and Mary Mazancec. He attended St. Rita Elementary School in Solon, graduated from St. Peter Chanel High School in Bedford, and the University of Notre Dame in 1968.
Father Mazanec worked for nine years in sales and management before entering St. Mary Seminary in 1977. He was ordained a priest on June 13, 1981 and was assigned to Saint Columbkille Church under Fr. Steve Radecky. He has served the Lord and His people at seven different parishes, including nearly five years as pastor as St. Martin of Tours in Maple Heights. He loves being a priest; it's wonderful to be able to share Jesus as we experience Him in various points in our lives—in tears of joy and in sadness, on the mountain tops and in the valleys, and all the places in between.
Now that he is back at Saint Columbkille, he is happy to see friendly faces from the past and to meet friendly faces from the present.

Father Fr. Kalista has a special devotion to the Mother of God, of whom he has credited his call and his ordination to. He also has a great devotion to the Divine Mercy of Jesus Christ, inspired by the private revelations of St. Faustina Kowalska. Like his predecessors whom have served the people of St. Columbkille, Fr. Kalista very much looks forward to meeting and ministering to the many wonderful people of the Parish.
