Hi, my name is Father Anthony Suso and I blessed to be the pastor of St. Columbkille Catholic Parish!

I loved being around priests and religious growing up and while in high school after being Confirmed in the 10^th grade I had a profound spiritual encounter with Jesus during Eucharistic Adoration. At 15 years old I was questioning whether the host we received at Mass was really Jesus in the flesh…it didn’t make sense to me. I asked God to show me proof. At the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday I heard the voice of God the Father speak to me personally while in adoration saying “Anthony, you are my beloved Son…this is my beloved Son Jesus, listen to Him and follow Him.” I fell in love with Jesus that day and I knew I wanted to be a disciple of Christ for the rest of my life.

I graduated from Borromeo College Seminary and John Carroll University in Cleveland in 2004 with my BA in philosophy and Catholic studies. I graduated from St. Mary Seminary Graduate School of Theology with an MA in theology and MA in divinity in 2009. I was ordained a priest in service of the Diocese of Cleveland on May 16^th, 2009, by Bishop Richard Lennon. 

Since ordination to the priesthood, I served as parochial vicar of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Akron from 2009-2013 and parochial vicar of St. Joseph Parish in Strongsville from 2013-2017. In June of 2017 the bishop named me administrator of St. Columbkille Parish and in April of 2018 I was installed by Bishop Nelson Perez as the 5^th pastor of St. Columbkille.

I like everything Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I have a statue of Frodo Baggins in my office next to a relic of St. Columba! I enjoy playing Elden Ring and other From Software games on my PS5. I play the collectible card game Magic the Gathering and smoke a pipe on special occasions. I really enjoy all kinds of movies especially ones written and directed by Robert Eggers and Christopher Nolan. Reading and listening to audio books are another hobby of mine. Among my favorite authors are Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, George RR Martin, and Matthew Kelly. I enjoy being outdoors in nature and since the year 2000 I’ve been vacationing with a group of my priest friends nearly every year staying in a cabin on Little Hawk Lake in Minden, Ontario Canada.
